Choose the best next step

Do not worry about getting it perfect. Pick the safest next move.

A. Reply and ask what he needs
B. Delete it because it looks suspicious
C. Stop and verify the request using contact information you already trust

Stop. Check. Confirm.

STOP: Do not act on the message yet.

CHECK: The display name may look familiar, but the request is vague and the sender says he cannot talk. None of those clues alone proves the email is a scam.

CONFIRM: Use a phone number, saved contact, church directory, or another method you already trust.

The lesson

You do not have to prove the email is fake. You only need to decide whether it is safe to act on before you verify it.
